
The first time you access E-learning, you may be prompted to run a Java Security Certificate. You need accept a Java Security Certificate or Java will not work properly. You must click Run, Yes or Always to ensure E-learning functionality.
If you are in a lab, you may need to run this certificate everytime you use E-learning.
You must have the correct version of Java installed on your computer for the Java applications to work.
If you suddenly experience problems in E-learning that require Java, such as uploading files or using the Chat room on a computer where these functions worked previously, your Java application may have become corrupted. Delete any old versions of Java installed on your computer and reinstall a supported version.
If you are using a browser provided by your ISP, try a different browser. Download and install Firefox or Mozilla. SBC Yahoo and MSN browsers (which look like Internet Explorer) are NOT supported.
Pop-up blockers keep unwanted advertisements from popping up as you browse the Internet. They may also prevent E-learning from displaying announcements, mail, discussion, and quizzes.
This can occur if you are trying to download a Word document, Excel file,or other file. Look at the top of your page for a pale yellow row. Click the "Click here for options" link. From the drop down list, select "Download File".

If Internet Explorer default settings are on, you'll see the Information Bar when a Web site tries to:
Check the top of your browser page for an information bar (your computer may play a sound when a popup window is blocked).
Because of the Java requirements, E-learning requires a broad band connection (DSL, cable). If you are using an off-campus dialup connection the system will be very slow. Dial-up connections are not supported with E-learning.
Many companies have firewalls that prohibit personal use of computers and/or making changes to the firewall configuration. You may contact your company's network support technician to determine what firewall restrictions are set and if they can be modified to enable access to E-learning from work.
