Career and Student Employment Services

  • FOCUS  is a free career and education planning software tool for use by prospective and current students, parents and alumni. Through your responses to a series of questions, FOCUS will collect your information and provide results immediately. All FYE 2100 students must complete the FOCUS assessment.
  • Students can also make appointments with Career Counselors, find listings of on and off campus jobs and internships/co-ops and access many other career search resources.  

University Counseling and Testing Center – administers the Career Guidance Inventory and provides career counseling

Check education, knowledge, skills and abilities, and licensing against requirements for most occupations. Search for employer contact information nationwide, cost of living data, and call up state profiles with labor market conditions.
JobStar Central - A public library sponsored guide for job seekers including information on resumes, cover letters, salary surveys and career selection.
JobWeb's Career Library - lists featured articles and employers, career related research articles, and access to the full library's data base, including resume writing guides, interviewing -related articles, and many others.
Mapping Your Future internet resources - an extensive list of resources.
Monster.com career advice - Job Profiles, Salary Center, Self-Assessment Center, and Resume Center.
Occupational Outlook Handbook - the Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. The Handbook is revised every two years.
