Our creative team produces high-quality materials that communicate, support and build WMU’s brand. Creative services acts as an in-house agency providing a wide range of services, including art direction, design development for print and web, writing, editing, multimedia presentations, photography and project management.
Your project will be assessed to make sure it fits within University priorities and strategic goals and determine whether adequate resources are available to meet your timeline. If your project proposal is accepted, it will be assigned to a creative services team member who will be your contact throughout the design, editing and production processes. If your project is not accepted, we’ll provide you with alternatives.
While we do not charge for our design time, you are responsible for production costs. As part of our service, we will obtain three estimates, ensure your project follows the University Visual Identity Program and the University writing style.
Project timelines range from one to four weeks depending on complexity. A magazine, viewbook or other complex projects may take up to 12 weeks.

Marketing services is responsible for building the power of the Western Michigan University brand and managing its message of being learner centered, discovery driven and globally engaged. It supports the University’s goals by crafting and advancing WMU’s market position, increasing the University’s visibility among key audiences, and coordinating marketing efforts on and off campus.
Look to our staff to create marketing plans, provide direction for video production, plan and purchase outside media, and evaluate media opportunities such as print advertising and sponsorships.
