Marcy Peake joined Western Michigan University's TRiO Future Educator Success Program in January 2011 as the program director. She is a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and attended Western Michigan University for both her undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Prior to working at WMU, Peake was employed through the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Services Agency at the Juvenile Home Schools for six and a half years. Through that position, she worked with court-placed youth.
Among her many accomplishments, Peake has authored a book titled "Please Understand," for educators working with students who are emotionally, socially and academically disenfranchised. She also served 4 1/2 years as a trustee on the Kalamazoo Public School Board of Education and serves as the program director for the Institute for New Leadership.
In her free time, Peake enjoys reading, writing, swimming, riding her bike, spending time with family and friends, and hanging out at the beach.
