CTAC Awarded Funds from United Way

The Southwest Michigan Children’s Trauma Assessment Center (CTAC) at Western Michigan University was recently awarded over $22,000 in supportive grant funds from the United Way of the Greater Kalamazoo and Battle Creek Region. The funds will support two projects.

The first project will be to provide training and consulting on the impact of childhood trauma and how to implement trauma-informed practices, with a focus on working with schools and school-serving agencies in Kalamazoo County.

The second project will be to provide resource parent curriculum known as “Caring for Children Who Have Experienced Trauma: A Workshop for Resource Parents” in both Kalamazoo and Battle Creek for foster/adoptive parents and biological parents of children who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
