TCWP Camps for Young Writers

The summer 2008 TCWP Camps for Young Writers take place during June 16-27 (Monday-Friday) The camps are designed to give talented and enthusiastic elementary and middle school writers a chance to develop their writing in a supportive and collegial environment.

For 2008, we will have two simultaneously occurring camps:
  • What Do Authors Do? (ages 8-10): Our 'traditional' camp experience, focusing on a variety of creative writing activities, leading towards publication
  • The Writers' Toolbox (ages 11-13): A more focused camp for advanced aspriting authors and writers. Each day introduces a new writing tool.

  • Application & Information: 2008 TCWP Camp for Young Writers (downloadable .pdf document)

Our camp is facilitated by experienced teachers of writing and involves coaching from WMU students. It culminates in a public reading of writing with parents, friends, and others in attendance.
