Mark Your Calendar for The Rural Sites Network Conference

The Third Coast Writing Project at WMU is proud to host the National Writing Project's 2009 Rural Sites Network (RSN) Conference.

Over 250 teachers, leaders, and administrators from across the US will converge on Kalamazoo on March 13-14, 2009 for two days of learning, writing, and teaching. 

Pre-conference events occur during the morning and afternoon on Friday, March 13, The conference kicks off witth a Friday, March 13 banquet. Saturday, March 14 include keynotes, featured presentations, and concurrent sessions.

WMU professor Karen Vocke,  a national leader in migrant literacy and advocacy, will provide the keynote. Husband and wife team, Steve and Laura Feffer will be featured Saturday lunch speakers. Steve is a WMU professor and playwright. Laura teaches at Allegan Alternative High School. Michigan historian Larry Massie will highlight the Friday banquet.
