o AMERICAN COLLEGE THEATRE FESTIVAL
The Department is committed to the American College Theatre Festival. Most of our productions are critiqued by ACTF adjudicators. We also hosted the 1984 and 1985 Region III Festivals. This is the most active of all of the regions nationally, with each festival sponsoring six visiting productions. Dozens of guest artists are also in residence at that time. Majors are encouraged to attend ACTF. In April of 1988, WMU was honored at the National Festival in Washington, D.C., with its production of QUILTERS, which had three performances at The Kennedy Center. In fact, five WMU Theatre productions have been selected for regional festival competition. (more info)

All prospective members must be heavily involved in all aspects of theatre production work at Western, and have a positive attitude toward the program and its students. The purposes of this honorary fraternity are to increase interest, stimulate creativity, and recognize excellence in all of the allied arts and crafts of the theatre.

o NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS OF THEATRE
