Following are some ways to make your resume into a PDF on a Mac or a PC.

ON A MAC- (Pages or word)

1) With the document open, select print

2) The print menu will open

3) On the bottom of the print menu on the left side you should see PDF in the drop down box

4) Select “Save as PDF”.  You will then be able to pick where to save it on your computer.

5) Upload in the application

ON A PC (Word)

1) go to the main drop down screen (file, save, print, new, and save as)

2) press “save as type”

3) select save as pdf from the format drop down window

4)You will select where to save the file on your computer

5) Then upload in the application

PREPARATION OF A SONG

1. KNOW WHAT THE SONG IS ABOUT.

· What musical is it from?

· Who is singing the song and why?

· Where and when is the song being sung in the show?

2. MEMORIZE THE SONG.

3. HAVE YOUR SCORE PREPARED.

· Mark the beginning and the ending of your selection clearly.

· Make sure your score is clean and easy to read. Eraser marks and notes

(i.e., breath marks, blocking, diction, etc.) can be distracting to the accompanist.

· If your score is a copy, it is suggested that you mount it in a 3-ring binder. This makes seeing and turning the pages easier for the accompanist.

· Make sure your selection is in the key in which you will perform it. Do not expect the accompanist to transpose it for you. No lead sheets.

VOCAL HEALTH

· Wash your hands often.

· Avoid excess speaking/yelling.

2. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

3. ALWAYS WARM-UP BEFORE ANY PERFORMANCE-SUNG OR SPOKEN.

AUDITIONING

1. ARRIVE ON TIME.

2. BE PREPARED TO WAIT.

· Take your free time to get focused before you walk into the audition.

· Bring your own water and a snack (if you prefer).

· Bring something to occupy you while the other auditions are taking place.

3. WARM-UP.

· Find your own space to warm up.

· Facial massage.

· Humming, lip trills, vocalizing.

· Stretch out physically.

· Get focused.

4. AUDITION WITH CONFIDENCE.

· Your entrance sets the stage for the entire audition. Remember to introduce yourself and your pieces to the jurors.

· Be yourself!

· Your audition isn’t over until you’ve left the performance area.

 YOUR VIDEO AUDITION

Your video must be RECEIVED by Friday, February 6, 2015. If we do not have the video by that date we will not be able to review your audition.

THEATRE PERFORMANCE AUDITION VIDEOS:

Your video must start with you introducing yourself and the two monologues you are going to perform. The two monologues must be one minute each; therefore equaling a total of two minutes for your audition. We will start the timer when you start your first piece and will turn the video off after 2 minutes.

MUSIC THEATRE PERFORMANCE AUDITION VIDEOS:

DANCE: Prepare one up-tempo dance audition, one and one half to two minutes in length, which demonstrates your strength in the area of dance.  Please try to incorporate movements in the style of jazz, and feel free to demonstrate any training in ballet, modern, or tap.

 MUSIC: Prepare 16 measures of two memorized songs.  Both songs must be from Broadway literature (one ballad and one up tempo – contrast in style).  Music composed by Stephen Sondheim is not permitted. 

If possible, include footage from a full production of a musical in which you had a major role, especially if it involves dance.
