Get Involved: Become a Student Ambassador

A student ambassador provides facts, knowledge, and advice that prospective students need while making one of the most important decision of their lives. As an Ambassador you would give campus tours and participate in student panels to give students and their parents a taste of what college life at Western is like.

Some basic qualifications of being an Ambassador include:

  • good communication skills
  • abililty to effectively convey information on-the-spot
  • positive attitude about college and WMU (a must!)
  • willingness to learn more about Western

Does this describe you?

The Student Ambassador Program is always looking for new recruits. Here's how to get involved:

  1. Fill out an application. These can be found in the Seibert Administration Building by inquiring at the Welcome Desk.
  2. Volunteer first. The Student Ambassador Program depends largely on the work of our volunteers. This is a great chance to become knowledgeable about Western and puts you in a good position to apply for one of our paid positions when they become available.
  3. Get paid! The Student Ambassador Program hires out of our volunteer pool, so you'll already be at an advantage.

If you have any questions, please feel free to Contact our office. We want to know you're interested! Give us a call at 387-2290 and ask for the Student Ambassador Visit Relations Coordinator.
