Background
Some advice that I'd give to all Freshman students is to just get involved on campus. Meet new people, join a registered student organization, and study hard.
Hi, my name is Tony and I'm a sophomore here at Western and I'm studying Public Relations. I'm originally Kingsford, Michigan, which is located in the Upper Peninsula. I'm a Yooper and I'm real proud of it! I graduated in 2009 from Kingsford High School, home of the Flivvers.
The first time that Western came into my head was when they sent me information in the mail my sophomore year of high school. After I got the information in the mail I did some research, talked to some students who did attend Western, and went on a tour of the campus. After that tour I knew exactly where I wanted to be. However, after my 1st semester at Western I felt that I needed to be closer to home. I then transferred a school closer to home. After being closer to home and away from Western for that semester I realized that I needed to come back and here I am today, a Bronco again and I love it! I originally was a business major, but recently switched to Public Relations. I felt Public Relations was perfect for me because I love to interact with people and communicate with them, plus it ties in really well with business, which I am still planning on minoring in.
I am a student ambassador here at WMU. When I'm not working at the student ambassador office or at class I enjoy going to the sporting events that are held at Western and hanging out with friends around campus.
