Background
My advice for freshman is to get involved! It will make your experience at Western a lot better and you will meet a lot of great people.
Hi! My name is Tia and I'm a sophomore at Western. I graduated high school from Menominee which is a small town in the Upper Peninsula. Kind of a long ways from home but I love it at Western!
When it came to making the decision on where to go to college it came down to three schools. I wasn't quite sure how to make the choice since they were all great schools so I decided to take a tour and see how the schools were. After taking all three tours I knew right away that I wanted to come to Western, it was just the right fit for me. Choosing my major wasn't all that difficult for me, I had always loved chemistry and biology in high school so I decided biomedical sciences was the right choice.
Here at Western I'm involved in Health Professionals Society (HPS) which is an organization that is for students with pre-medical majors. They bring a lot of speakers in to talk about how to get ready for medical school and they also do some volunteering. In my free time I like going to the football games and hanging out with my friends.
