BackgroundMy advice for freshman is to go out there and meet new people, do your homework and relax. If you follow those guidelines, college will be a great experience.
I’m Stu. I am from Farmington Hills, Michigan and graduated from Farmington Central High School in 2009. I loved living so close to Detroit because of the unique culture in Detroit. I spent a lot of time back home going to festivals and concerts in Detroit.
For me, it wasn’t too hard to choose a college. I filled out a couple of applications and did a lot of research. I ended up deciding WMU because of the awesome engineering program. My major is Chemical Engineering and so far I love it. The professors are awesome people and everybody is here to help. I guess another reason I chose WMU was because of the people I encountered during the application process.
College is great. I love it here. There are so many things to do and so many
new people to meet. That is one of the awesome things about living in the
residence halls; I’ve met so many people that live in the same building as me.
During my free time, I like to skateboard and play guitar. I am also a part
of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, which really helps to prepare
me for the workplace.
