Advice for Freshman

Of all things just keep your head up, meet new people and try new things; work hard at school. College is a serious thing and it can be a lot of fun if you play your cards right!

About Stu

Hey I'm Stu. I'm am from Farmington Hills, MI. I went to Farmington HIgh Schools for my freshman and sophomore years and then switched half way through my junior year over to Farmington Central High School. I graduated high school in 09' the last of the single digits.

I decided to go to WMU because I really liked what I had heard about it and I knew that they had a really good engineering school. I didn't really look into any other colleges; I was just really set on Western. I chose Chemical Engineering because I've always been fascinated with Math and Science and I really enjoy a challenge!

College a really great time in a person's life. There are lots of fun things to do, cool people to meet, and lots valuable things to be learned. Here at school I am involved in AICHE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers) and I also work. I lived in the residence halls for about a full year. My freshman year I lived in Bigelow, which was the engineering specialty housing, and that was a really big help to my grades. The following 2 summer semesters I lived in the Burnhams which was a really cool experience. Mostly in my free-time I skateboard and play the guitar.
