BackgroundTake advantage of moving away from home and living your own life. College
is not a continuation of high school, but an opportunity to be who you really
want to be.
I went to Catholic Central in downtown Grand Rapids where I was involved in everything from soccer to choir and musical theater to swimming. I'm the youngest in my family with two older sisters and love it!
Both of my older sisters went to MSU, but I was looking for something different. WMU stuck out to me because of its large, diverse population in a beautiful campus setting. Its perfect location in Kalamazoo in SW Michigan is great for a weekend trip to Detroit or Chicago. I chose Organizational Communications as my major for its great preperation in leadership and Spanish because it was a hobby I wanted to take to the next level.
I'm out to make the ulitmate, well rounded college experience. WMU has so many opportunities available for students, you just need to jump in and take advantage of them! While a student here, I've been involved as an Orientation Student Leader, Drive Safe Kalamazoo Volunteer, Fall Welcome Ambassador, Studied abroad in Spain, First-Year Seminar Co-Facilitator, Chief of Operations for Western Student Association (WMU's student government) and am now currenlty the President of the Wester Student Association.
