BackgroundThe one thing I would tell in coming freshmen is to get involved immediately. Joining RSO's, and participating in extra-curricular activities will help you meet new people and will give you a sense of belonging to the community. I would also tell them to not be shy! Being able to talk to anyone and be you are key factors to meeting new people and maybe creating new friendships.
Hello! My name is Liz. I am a sophomore at Western Michigan University. I just decided my major in Health Infomatics and Informationing Management. It is a new major that was just offered starting this fall. The major is an integration of the College of Business and the College of Health and Human Services. I am very excited that I found the perfect major for me. My hometown is on the east side of the state. I lived southeast of Detroit in the suburbs. In my spare time I like to play tennis, read, and hang with my friends!
When I was deciding where to go for college, I had to look at a lot of factors. I wanted a school that wasn't too big or too small. I also was looking at how far I was from my hometown. I did not want to be too far nor did I want to be too close. I picked Western Michigan University because the campus size is perfect and felt like home the first time I walked on campus. Everyone was inviting and involved, so I knew this was the place for me!
