Background My advice to freshmen is to work on time management before coming to college. It's important to get a good balance between going to classes, doing homework, having a social life, working out, sleeping, or anything else you might do.
My name is Elizabeth. I am from the Grand Rapids area. I went to Grandville High School. I graduated in the year 2011. I'm in the college of arts and sciences.
When looking for a college I mostly started with colleges that I was familiar with. I was looking between WMU, MSU, and GVSU. I went on campus tours for all three but when I came to Western it just seemed to be the perfect fit. The location and the size of the campus were two things that initially had me interested in attending here. I am currently a biology major. I want to be a veterinarian, so I worked with my advisor to figure out what major would best get me all the pre requisite classes I needed to go on to graduate school.
The thing I like most about college is the atmosphere. I was involved in intramural softball over the summer and it was a really great experience and a great way to meet new people. I plan to play again this summer. This job also helps me get involved with the University and is also a great way to meet people. In my free time I like to go check out all the different sporting events we have on campus. Hockey games are my favorite to go to!
