About Kerstan

Hey all, my name is Kerstan, I’m a sophomore here at Western and I love it! I’m from a small town called Perry which is right outside of East Lansing. I graduated in 2006 from a class of about 100 people. In high school I played volleyball, softball, and was involved in tons of different organizations, but mainly Student Council and the Spanish Club.

I knew Western was my place to be since my junior year of high school. I knew this because it had everything I wanted in a university. What I wanted was one with a fairly large student population and one that wouldn’t treat me like a number. I also wanted a school that was close enough to home, but not so close that my mom would pop in and say “Hi” on a daily basis. During the winter of my senior year I took a tour of WMU, fell in love and knew without a doubt this was the university for me.

I’m currently double majoring in Organizational Communications and Spanish with a minor in Non-Profit Leadership. Hopefully this won’t change. I love my communication classes this semester and in the summer I will be studying abroad in Santander, Spain .

In my spare time I love going to downtown Kalamazoo, especially all the restaurants! I also love going to the $4 movies and just hanging out with friends and meeting new people!
