BackgroundTime management is one of the most important tools you can have in college.
If you can balance your time between school, social life and/or work then you
will succeed during your college career.
Hello all, my name is Keith Williams and I am currently a sophomore at Western Michigan University. My hometown is the luscious capital city known as Lansing, Michigan. I attended Waverly high school, where I was extremely involved, graduating as my class president in May of 2009.
While deciding on which college I wanted to attend, I started out by actually going to the college and going on a tour. While on the tour I asked as many questions as I could think of at the time. I applied to six different schools my senior year and Western came out as the top winner. As a child, and up to this day, I have always loved the news and what goes on in front of and behind the camera. When it came time to choose my major, I knew exactly which one I wanted to choose. Broadcast Journalism is an amazing major within Western Michigan University’s School of Communications within the College of Arts and Sciences. The School of Communications was the best out of all the other schools that I applied to, which was a major deciding factor.
College life is so much better than the routine you had/have in high school.
There is a wide range of knowing how to use your new found freedom wisely.
I am involved in the Student Ambassador Program and Young Black Males Support
Network (YBMSN). YBMSN is a registered student organization that does a
lot of community service, round table discussions and mentoring in the Kalamazoo
community. I currently live in the residence halls, which I highly recommend
for all freshmen. You get to meet al ot of people and participate in a
lot
of on campus activities when living in the residence halls. In my spare
time I often go to the Student Recreational Center to workout, play basketball
or swim with friends. The lounge areas within the residence halls are also
a very
fun place to hang out and socialize. Kalamazoo also has a great downtown
atmosphere with many things to do.
