Hola! My name is Josué and I graduated from Centro Educativo Amador. My graduating class had about 75 students, so my school wasn't that big. In high school I was involved on the prom board of my graduating class and was captain of the soccer team and basketball team. This is my second year at WMU and is amazing so far! Even though is my second year at WMU, I am a senior because I transferred credits from the Dominican Republic. I am majoring in industrial and entrepreneurial engineering. It is a great program, and the faculty members are very helpful.
When I got to my senior year in high school I had the choice between two colleges in the Dominican Republic. I picked one of the best, in engineering. After my second year at INTEC (Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo), I applied for a scholarship from the Dominican government. They offered it for a couple of other colleges, but I instantly picked WMU because of the great engineering program it has. Also, there are a lot of Dominicans and other international students, so why not exchange some cultural diversity?!
I am on an Ultimate Frisbee team called Dark Horse Ultimate. We travel around the country and play different tournaments against other colleges. Spring semester is the actual season we compete during. Ultimate Frisbee is a great sport and I love it. In my free time, I like to play soccer at the student recreation center, a lot of people go there and is a pretty fun time and you get to meet a lot of people. Once in a while, the intramural office organizes tournaments between the students that attend the SRC. Also, it is very fun to attend and support the power of gold! Hockey games are really fun and football too! WMU is the place to be and I love it!!!
