Hi future bronco! I'm Hailey M, the fun, fabulous, involved bronco! I am originally from Detroit but my parents decided to move to Romulus just before my freshmen year of high school. In 2009 I graduated from Romulus High School, as president... Go Eagles!
Going into my senior year of high school, I was stuck on a certain school ... until I went on a tour. I became nervous, which never happens to me, and scared of how I would be successful at such a big institution. My teachers, who just happened to be alumni of WMU, encouraged me to come on a campus tour just to see what it was like. Before this, WMU was not on my list of colleges. I came on a tour and instantly fell in love and knew that this was the place for me. I knew that this was a big school, but it surely didn't feel like it. The faculty/staff were generously nice and seemed as if they really cared about my success in college; and they do.
As a communication major, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to be "when I grow up". After being involved as a Student Ambassador, Orientation Student Leader, Fall Welcome Ambassador, First-Year Seminar Instructor, and being Vice President of the student government, it was destined that student affairs was the career for me. I was able to find my passion; in helping others through my various leadership roles on campus. Because of all the diverse groups that I was involved in, I had the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures, backgrounds, and also networked with other students/faculty and people around the Kalamazoo community.
