BackgroundWhen I came to college, the first thing that I did was get involved. I was involved with the Western Student Association, the Campus Activities Board, and a couple of other registered student organizations. Getting involved in your university is one of the best ways to be successful in college. Also, when you are living in the residence halls, keep your door open so people can visit. It's another way you can make great friends on your floor. When I have free time, I love to go hang out with my friends, watch movies, and go to downtown Kalamazoo and explore!
Hi, my name is Dillon. I am a sophomore at Western Michigan University, double majoring in Organizational Communication and Political Science. I am from Jenison, Michigan where I graduated in 2011 from Jenison High School.
When trying to decide which college to go to I had a big choice to make, like everyone else. Except in my case, my parents were moving to Florida shortly after I went off to whatever college I decided to go to. I had been to Western before for a choir invitational, and really enjoyed the time that I had while visiting campus. I was looking into a college down in Florida initially, but I decided to come to WMU. The reason why was because Western had one of the top programs for psychology, which was my major at the time, and I had a lot of really good friends that were also going to be attending WMU as well. I realized that psychology wasn't my true passion, and then I switched to organizational communication and political science after taking classes in both. I could not be any happier with what I am majoring in now.
