My name is Devin. I am originally from Chicago, IL. I went to Morgan Park Academy and graduated in 2011.
I personally chose Western Michigan University for a number of reasons. I was intrigued by the campus, people, diversity, distance from home, assistance, and the amount of students at Western. WMU is a great university for a business major, like me. I have declared my major in business management and a minor in family life education. My dream is to own daycares and infant centers.
My freshman year of college was great! I got involved in a number of events and activities on campus. I joined the Management Student Organization and became the secretary on the executive board. I lived in the Valleys my freshman year and I am currently living off campus in an apartment. In my free time I work, learn, hang with friends, meet new people, read the Bible, draw, dance, and go shopping.
I would have to say that the most important thing to know when attending a college or university for the first time is learning how to manage your time. Time is key in college, because you are on your own now and responsible for yourself. Manage your time, make plans, and schedule routines to help you get the job done.
