Denise's Advice for Freshman
I think the best advice I was given as a freshman is to get involved. No matter what you do just get involved and I promise it will change your life forever!
About Denise
Hi my name is Denise and I am from a small town in the Holland area called Hamilton. I also graduted from Hamilton High School in 2005. I am now entering my Senior year at WMU and I never thought I would see this day!
Actually WMU was my first and only choice! We had representatives from Western come to my town and recruit, I was really interested. So I applied and was accepted! I was actually in the fashion program my first year and realized it wasn't for me so I took an intro to theatre class and got involved in our theatre program. I realized how amazing our program was here, so I applied to get in and I was accepted. I am very happy to be where I am now.
College life is great! I am a Student Ambassador on campus, I build costumes for student productions of theatre and I am involved in WMU's MSA (Muslim Student Association). I am always busy with homework, doing things for our theatre productions and also with work, but I am always having fun while doing these things. In my free time I like to draw and read, as well as hanging out with friends and going to movie theatres. P.S. tickets in Kalamazoo are like $3!!! So go!
