BackgroundThe most important advice I can give to a prospective student is to not rush on declaring a major once you've came to college. WMU offers a university curriculum that allows students to check out different majors before they decide what works for them. Besides that, choose Western because everyday's a GREAT day to be a BRONCO!!!
Hi everyone! I'm DeAndre. I graduated in 2009 from Muskegon Heights High School in the great city of Muskegon, MI. Some of the things I like to do for fun are listening to music, hanging with friends, and singing. I also like attending many of the events that take place on campus.
From the beginning of my freshman year, I knew I wanted to be a Bronco. I applied for the WMU Incentive Scholarship then and received a full ride here my senior year. I went on a campus visit for the second time during Spring Break of my senior year and fell IN LOVE with this place. With an interest in government, I decided I would major in Political Science. One day I plan on becoming a lawyer, thanks to the best school in the world!
There is NO reason to ever be bored on campus. There are a lot of organizations
and activities to keep students involved. I’m a member of The Voices
of WMU, the student gospel choir here on campus, and I’ve made a ton
of new friends through this organization. There are also activities that
go on all
the time in the residence halls to keep students from staying in their
rooms all day. It also gives you a break from studying - all work and no play
prevents
you from getting the full college experience, so GET INVOLVED!!
