Make sure to try and visit the campuses you are interested in if at all possible! You’d be surprised at how much that can help you in making a decision!

About Caitlin

My name is Caitlin and I’m a senior here at WMU. I’m from a suburb of Northwest Chicago called Algonquin. In high school I was involved in musicals, chorus, French club, NHS and Beta Club. I have been dancing ballet, modern and jazz since 5th grade, am still dancing in college!

Finding Western was a pretty easy choice that my dance teacher from home recommended for me. I went on a tour of campus as well as the dance department and fell in love! I was big into making lists of pros and cons of different schools and dance departments to help me make my decision. Ever since I started dancing I knew that it was a career I wanted to pursue, and after taking a few general education classes I found out that I loved cultural anthropology.

This is my second year as a member of the Orchesis Dance Society, which is a student run organization within the dance department. We put on a show every fall that is completely student choreographed and performed. In the past I was the Special events Coordinator and am presently the Secretary.
