BackgroundMy advice to transfer students is to get involved on campus! Great way to make new friends and take part in all the fun activities on we have going on year round.
I am from Dakar, Senegal, a West African, Former French colony. My first languages are French and Wolof. I love the Ocean because my hometown is a peninsula on the Atlantic.
I decided to attend Western Michigan University because it is located in a nice sized town and it offers a great business program as well as fantastic study abroad opportunities. I chose the sales and business marketing major because I love all aspects of sales. Having Spanish as my second major will prepare me for the Southwest, where I intend to move after graduation.
I am currently the treasurer of two Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) here at Western. I chose to join the International Programs Council (IPC) and the Bronco African Students Association (BASA) because I wanted to know more about other countries and make friends with people from different cultures. I love all the activities we participate in as an RSO and my favorites are African Night and the International Festival. I love Zumba and I try to go at least twice every week. Living off campus doesn't keep me from being involved in campus events. I also love the ability to walk from one end of WMU to the other without having to drive. Go Broncos!
