BackgroundGet involved! Sitting around and watching the time pass by is a waste of time and a waste of the college experience! All the memories I have of college thus far are from going places and doing things! You make your own college experience, so choose to have fun!
Hey! My name is Aaron and I am a Junior here at WMU. GO BRONCOS! I grew up in Dearborn, MI, which is right outside of Detroit. I graduated from Edsel Ford High School with a class of about 400 students. When I was in high school, I was involved in vocal ensemble, orchestra (cello for 11 years!), the drama dept, cross-country, interact club, international club, and Relay for Life. I pretty much got a taste of everything in high school and it really prepared me for college. It was a blast!
WMU has always been in the back of my mind since my brother is an alumnus (’04). I later found out that WMU has the top Public Administration School in the nation! When I found that out, WMU was my top choice. I was determined to get great education and hands-on experience for non-profit leadership and WMU offered that to me.
College is amazing! There are so many things to get involved in! Currently, I am the Chairperson for Drive Safe Kalamazoo, a nationally recognized state of the art safe-ride program. I am also involved in theWestern Student Association, First Year Experience Programs and American Humanics Association. I lived on campus my freshman year and it was the best time of my life! I had a great roommate, great residence hall and gained some great friendships.
