Bring your own beverage, food and friends to any of the 11 tailgate lots near the stadium before the big game.
We want everyone to enjoy tailgating. But remember, there are limits to just how good a time you should plan on having:
- Tailgate lots near Waldo Stadium open two and one-half hours before game time and close at kickoff. See the Rules and Lots page for a list of lots and tailgate rules.
- Michigan law says that underage drinking is illegal everywhere—on public or private property, indoors or out—even when tailgating.
- Carrying an open container of alcohol on public streets or sidewalks is illegal, regardless of your age. So when you leave the tailgate, leave your beverage behind.
- Alcohol and public disturbance laws will be enforced on campus and throughout the city—even on football weekends.
Just remember to think before you drink, because you probably won’t be thinking real clearly afterward.
