Dr. Suzie Nagel came to Western Michigan University in 1997 and has served as the director of the office of student conduct, associate dean of students and currently as an associate vice president for student affairs. Prior to her time at WMU, Dr. Nagel worked in student affairs for 10 years at Miami University (Ohio). Dr. Nagel earned her Ph.D. from WMU in Educational Leadership with a concentration in higher education and received her master’s degree from Miami University and bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University. Dr. Nagel possesses expertise in the areas of crisis management, early intervention, student conduct, student activities and leadership, students with mental health concerns, law and policy related to student affairs, strategic planning and a strong commitment to interculturalism.
