Assessment Materials

The Writing Lab Outreach Project offers a variety of instructional materials to help educators plan and implement inclusive, computer-supported, writing process instruction activities. Feel free to download and use these documents in your own classrooms. All documents are saved in Microsoft Word format.

Evaluating children's writing software

We recommend utilizing the Software Design Features Documentation Form to evaluate childrens writing software.

This form enables users to record information about critical design features found in children's word processing software. Photocopy the form and record information about each word processing program that you review. Then, when you are ready to select software for your students, you will have a rich collection of information about programs that you have seen.
