SPAA Programs

Western Michigan University's School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) is home to one of the nation's largest MPA programs and the MPA program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). The School also offers a PhD in Public Administration, graduate certificates in Nonprofit Leadership and Administration and Health Care Administration, and an undergraduate minor in Nonprofit Leadership. The Nonprofit Leadership programs provide for affiliation with American Humanics (AH).

During the past quarter century, the SPAA has graduated more than 2,300 women and men who hold leadership positions in federal, state, and local governments, health care and social services organizations, nonprofit agencies, and academic institutions.

Most courses are offered once per week from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with selected courses offered on Saturdays or online. Courses through the School of Public Affairs and Administration are available at the Kalamazoo campus, and the Lansing and Battle Creek regional sites of Western Michigan University
