Professional research expertise:
Principal Investigators on Center projects hold faculty appointments in
Sociology and collaborating departments. They are assisted by a
professional staff of researchers, a clerical staff, computer specialists,
and experienced graduate and undergraduate research assistants.
Training:
KCSR offers professional research training and workshops for faculty,
staff, students in the University, and interested community members.
Cost-effective service:
KCSR works on a contractual basis for nonprofit organizations. As a part
of Western Michigan University, KCSR operates on a cost recovery basis and
offers highly competitive rates.
University resources and access to latest technology:
KCSR has access to the resources of Western Michigan University and the
latest technology which includes web-based survey capabilities. KCSR
itself maintains a computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI)
facility with a server and eight workstations, a research
library, data storage facilities, and project offices.
Data sources for research:
KCSR maintains a data bank for research and research training. It provides
information about access to other regional and national data. This
information will soon be available on our Web site.
