Biographical Statement
I am concerned with extending and testing the interactionist theory of G. H. Mead, using a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. My major interests are in how a person's meanings are organized in relation to his or her positions in various social orders, and in how a complex self develops in relation to the perspectives and interaction patterns available in families and organizations.
