Criminal Justice Honor Society

Alpha Phi Sigma is the national criminal justice honor society for the U.S. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate and  graduate students of criminal justice, as well as law students. WMU's chapter, Epsilon Phi, is open to criminal justice majors and minors with at least four criminal justice courses completed at WMU, a 3.2 GPA in these courses and a 3.2 GPA overall. Applications are accepted by the Criminal Justice Program within the Department of Sociology twice annually (mid-October and mid-March). Successful applicants will be notified in writing and inducted during the Annual Spring Honors Reception for the Department of Sociology in April. To apply for this honorary designation, download a membership form at the Alpha Phi Sigma website (www.alphaphisigma.com) or request one at the Criminal Justice Program Office in the Department of Sociology (Sangren 2406). Applications must include a transcript from WMU (student-issued is acceptable), along with a cashier's check or money order in the amount of $40 payable to Alpha Phi Sigma. Applications will be reviewed and forwarded to the Alpha Phi Sigma headquarters by a faculty member in the Criminal Justice Program. Incomplete or deficient applications will be returned, along with the $40 payment, to the applicant.
