Kiara, valedictorian of her high-school class, is already looking forward to graduation. But it’s not that she wants to get out of here, but rather she can’t wait to get into her career as a nurse in a children’s hospital.

“With all the diversity here, it will prepare me really well,” she says of nursing. “It’ll teach me how to interact with different people, faces and scenarios.”

When it came to choosing a school, Kiara put a lot on Western’s alumni. She knows a number of people who had great experiences as Broncos, talked to them, asked questions, and combined with her love of the campus and the reputation of WMU’s nursing school, made her choice.
