Spending a day on campus with a friend (remember Kaisa?) made Jackson's choice easy: he would attend WMU. Earning the Medallion Scholarship helped, too, but he credits the on-campus experience with Kaisa, during which he attended classes and generally lived the life of a Bronco for a day, as cinching the decision.
One day as a Bronco wasn't enough. In fact, Jackson says he'd be willing to get a WMU tattoo on his forehead, showing his pride for the rest of his life.
Tattoo or not, Jackson is currently studying biomedical science and plans to declare behavioral science as his major once he completes his prerequisites. He works with mentally ill adults, a group of people he feels is often overlooked. There's nothing he'd rather do.
In addition to volunteering his time for good, he's also looking into joining some WMU student organizations, including a senate position in the Western Student Association. You can also find him out on the ice, as he's a registered USA Hockey official. All these things will combine to help him in his desired career as a psychiatrist.
