What do toothpaste, hair products, plastics and fireworks have in common? Chemical engineers are involved in all of them. A self-proclaimed “huge nerd,” Abigail is fascinated by chemical engineering and the endless career possibilities such a concentration can give her.
When narrowing her college choices from five to Western, it came down to home. On the other campuses, Abigail didn’t feel as comfortable as she does at WMU. She credits a lot of that to the engineering-department staff, particularly her student advisor, Dr. Peter Parker.
“I’ve emailed (Dr. Parker) back and forth this summer quite a bit about choosing a minor and arranging my class schedule,” says Abigail. “He gets me excited about starting in the fall, and I can’t wait.”
Neither can we. Enjoy the smart ride.
