Merge: A Play on Diversity
Designed
to explore social behavioral health issues, Merge is
an educational theatre production that creates a social empowerment
for minority, ostracized, and socially reluctant students.
Student peer educators bring to life current social issues
that have a direct affect on student’s physical, mental,
and spiritual health. As an educational vehicle, Merge
will offer curriculum infusion through panel discussions before
or after students have witnessed the production. The play
features a string of scenarios that focus on cultural awareness
and appreciation, diversity on college campuses, supportive
resources for minority students, an understanding of ethnicity,
and representation of students with any type of disability.
