Scholarships For Scholar-Athlete-Leaders
Army ROTC Scholarships are
awarded on a merit basis. Awards are based on the "whole person"
concept and consider academic performance, athletic ability and leadership
potential. Two, three and four year scholarships are available. The typical
WMU scholarship cadet has a 3.2 GPA, scored a 23 on the ACT, played a
high school varsity sport, and was a team captain, a student government
leader, or held some other type of leadership position.
All Army ROTC Scholarships
offer the same benefits, however, WMU provides assistance for on-campus
housing to all Army Scholarship recipients who attend WMU. Army ROTC Scholarships
cover full tuition annually and provide $1200 per
year for textbooks, supplies and equipment. The WMU supplement is $3000
towards on-campus housing.
In addition to paying tuition
and books, ROTC scholarships also provide a living allowance of $3,000-$5,000
each school year ($300-$500/month) that the scholarship is in effect.
Additionally, using an Army ROTC scholarship doesn't preclude you from
accepting other scholarships.
