MAJ Jon Brunner

ADJUNCT ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MILITARY SCIENCE  

Major Jon Brunner is a Field Artillery Officer and a 1989 graduate of the United States Military Academy. He is a former member of the Army football team and three year letter winner; including two Commander-in-Chief trophies, 3 wins over Navy and a victory against Western Michigan University.

While on active duty, he served as Platoon Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader and Maintenance Officer in 8 inch and MLRS equipped units in Germany. He also served as Battalion S-4 (M109A5) and Battalion Fire Direction Officer (M109A6) in Oklahoma and Texas.

As a member of the Army Reserve, he served as Company Commander, Assistant S-3, Battalion S-3, and Brigade S-1 in an Infantry OSUT unit. He recently returned from a deployment to Iraq as Executive Officer for a Civil Affairs company. While there, he served as a Civil Affairs & Civil-Military operations trainer with a Brigade level MTT in Northern Iraq.

He is a graduate of Airborne School, Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses and CAS3. MAJ Brunner enjoys the outdoors, swimming in Lake Michigan and playing with his kids.
