WMU Army ROTC was selected by the United States Army Cadet Command as the winner of the Order of the Founders and Patriots of America award for Western ROTC Region. This award is only one of three awarded nationwide. The Order of the Founders and Patriots of America is a civilian organization whose goals are to bring together those who share this common heritage, promote patriotism and a respect for the character and heroism of the founders and patriots of America, discover, collect and preserve the records, documents, monuments and history of the first colonists and their descendants and promote educational, historical and patriotic programs. Students who attend full time at a school other than WMU must be accepted to WMU as a guest student.

If you have 26 or more college credits, you will use the Guest Student Application and submit it through the Registrar's Office at the school you are currently attending.

WMU Guest Student Application

If you are a high school student or have less than 26 college credits, you must apply to WMU as if you were going to attend full time. When filling out your application, you should mark the block that says "Non-degree status" and put ROTC in the intended major.

Non-degree Student Application

The Department of Military Science for Army Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC) was established to select and prepare qualified students to serve as officers in the Regular Army, National Guard, or Army Reserve. The curriculum is designed to develop the students' leadership potential, as well as improve the students' planning, organizing, and managerial skills.
