Area of Specialization/Research:
Dr. Kathy Purnell (OVPR's Research Contracts Administrator (Pre-Award Contracts)) is a licensed attorney in the state of Michigan and a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys. Her positions prior to OVPR have included serving as the Director of External Funding and Special Projects for the Physical Sciences Division of the University of Chicago, and as Associate Director of Foundation Relations at the University of Chicago. Previous positions at WMU have included serving as WMU's first University Service Learning Coordinator and as an instructor in WMU's Political Science Department and First Year Experience Program.
