The official registration drop/add period extends 5 business days into a term, and a 24-hour grace period is provided to students who drop or add a course that meets for the first time on or after the final day of the drop/add period. If you are dropping a class within 24 hours of the start date, please contact the Registrar's Office at (269) 387-4300 to ensure that you receive the proper refund.
Students are responsible for obtaining or forfeiting the work missed in class sessions not attended. Course instructors are not obligated to update students who add a course beyond the first meeting of the class. For dates specific to each semester or session, see Academic Calendar for the semester/session you plan to attend.
added after the drop/add period ends except for extenuating circumstances as determined by the instructor. Should the instructor deem that a late add should be granted (and the student is not enrolled in any other WMU courses for that semester), the student will be assessed $100 per course late add fee.
Registration in a course may be canceled if the student does not satisfy all published prerequisites. Students should check course prerequisites in the Undergraduate Catalog or the Graduate Catalog before registering for the course.
Student are responsible for their registration and any subsequent withdrawal from courses. Students who do not attend or complete their courses must withdraw by the established deadlines (see Academic Calendar within the specific semester/session) or be subject to failing grades and/or tuition and fee charges.
Registration in a course may be canceled in certain circumstances for nonattendance of the first class meeting-lecture or lab-unless prior authorization is granted by the academic department.
