Orientation for incoming freshmen begins next Monday, June 3. As of Friday, there were 2,981 students registered for one of the 12 sessions scheduled. This is up 175 students from this time last year. For more information, see the Orientation website: http://www.wmich.edu/fye/orientation/.
An email was sent last week to all Fall 2013 instructors providing additional information on the textbook requisition process that is now being coordinated through Follett. The email included instructions on how to create an account in the new system and provided instructors with the required “bookstore supplied password".
Textbook information previously requested through the Prism system has been transferred to Follett. Students and instructors can view textbook information by going to the course search and clicking on the CRN. The course search can be accessed through GoWMU or on the Registrar’s Office website at: https://www.wmich.edu/classlookup/
Instructors needing assistance with the textbook requisition process should contact Charles Hendrix, Course Materials Manager. Charles can be reached by phone at 269-387-3917 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those looking ahead to the Spring 2014 semester, textbook information needs to be submitted no later than September 23, 2013.
Students who have been academically dismissed will be dropped from their Summer II courses on Wednesday, May 29.
Graduation Audit Test Score
You may notice a new test score appearing in Banner on the SOATEST screen. An “AUDT” test score will be entered by the Registrar’s Office when a student’s application for graduation has been loaded in Banner. The purpose of the test score is to update Degree Works so students and advisor can easily see if this important step has been taken care of.
If the graduation auditing paperwork has not been submitted to the Registrar’s Office, the student will see the following message on the Degree Works worksheet:
Application to Graduate (Graduation Audit) Not Submitted.
You should apply to graduate through your college advisor when you reach 88 credits.
When the graduation audit has been submitted to the Registrar’s Office and loaded into Banner, the student will see:
Application to Graduate (Graduation Audit) Submitted
