Fall 2013 Working Reports
Just a reminder that the deadline to return Fall 2013 working reports is tomorrow by 5 p.m. The working reports need to be signed by the department chair and/or the Dean and returned to the Registrar's Office, even if there are no changes.
Banner Upgrade
The Banner upgrade to version 8.5.4 is scheduled for this weekend. The upgrade process will begin Saturday afternoon and will continue through Sunday. Both Banner self-service and INB will be unavailable to faculty, staff and students during the upgrade. We anticipate having Banner back up and available for use around noon on Sunday.
Degree Works Update
The Degree Works project is moving forward and we are just four month away from going live. Department and college advisors have a March 1 deadline to verify that requirements have set up accurately and to confirm that Degree Works is correctly processing the requirements. If assistance is needed with the validation process, please email Kelley Oliver in the Registrar’s Office at kelley.oliver@wmich.edu.
Degree Works will be introduced to new students this summer at orientation and to returning students during the Fall 2013 semester. You can always track our Degree Works progress on the Registrar’s Office website at http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/degreeworks/timeline.php
Did you know:
The Degree Works audit can be saved as a PDF? This allows the audit to be viewed in a printer-friendly version and provides users with the ability to email the audit as an attachment.
Copying a VHS tape to DVD format
For the remainder of calendar 2013 the Media Services unit in the Office of Information Technology will copy instructor VHS tapes to DVD format at no cost. Instructors will be responsible for copyright clearance, but the cost for copying a VHS tape to DVD will be assumed by the Office of Information Technology. OIT has been working with departmental IT support staff to distribute over 30 VHS players throughout campus. These VHS players are on roll away carts and can be easily connected to the new digital technology. If you have a need to use a VHS player please reach out to your college IT representative for additional information.
