Grading for the Fall 2012 semester is open. Grades are due no later than noon on Tuesday, December 18. As a reminder, the new Monitoring Enrollment Policy approved by the Faculty Senate goes into effect this semester.
When submitting final grades in GoWMU or D2L, instructors will be required to provide the date a student last attended class, when the student is receiving a grade of “E” or “X”. If attendance information is not available, the instructor can use the last date of recorded academic activity. It is important that the date provided be as accurate as possible since it will be used to determine student awards and refunds.
Instructors will be prompted to enter a valid date that is between the start and end date of the semester before final grades can be submitted. In cases where the student does not come to even one class session or does not complete any work, the first day of the semester should be used.
PDF versions of the 2012-2013 undergraduate and graduate catalogs are now available. The PDF format will make it easier to search for specific content in the catalog. It will also allow users to print pages or sections of the catalog as needed. The PDF version can be found on the main “welcome” page of the online catalog. We will continue to provide PDF catalogs going forward and plan to convert previous catalogs to PDF as far back as 2006, when we went to the online format.
In addition to PDF, a mobile version of the WMU catalog can be viewed on an Android or Apple device. QR codes are provided that can be scanned to download the WMU mobile app. The catalog is located on the academic icon.
A few navigation changes have also been made to improve the overall use of the online catalog, including providing a separate link on the Registrar’s Office website to the undergraduate and graduate catalogs.
Grad Fair will be held tomorrow and Wednesday, November 13 and 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Textbook Alley on the lower level of the Bernhard Center. During Grad Fair, December 2012 graduates can receive 20 percent off regalia rentals, diploma frames, alumni clothing and souvenirs. They can also pick up their four guest tickets for the December 15 commencement ceremony.
