Degree Works Update

The Degree Works project is moving forward on schedule.   The program requirements have been built for Arts and Sciences, Aviation, Business and Education.   The information is currently being reviewed by the college and faculty advisors to validate the data.  Our target is to have the coding and validation completed for all colleges by March 1 and roll Degree Works out to students with a 2011 or 2012 catalog year in May 2013.

Did you know…

In Degree Works students can click on a course still needed in their audit and view the sections of that course that are being offered in upcoming semesters. Students will be able to see the CRN number, open seats, and the days and times the course is being offered.   The information displayed will reflect real time data pulled from Banner.

Midterm Grading

This is the final week for instructors to enter midterm grades for the fall semester in Banner. The Midterm Grade Worksheet will be available through Sunday, October 28. Additional information on midterm grading as well as instructions on how to submit midterm grades can be found on the Registrar’s Office website at:

Buster’s Family Weekend Adventure

Buster’s Family Weekend Adventure is scheduled for this weekend, October 26-28.  During family weekend, parents and family members of WMU students will be able to:

• Participate in Classes Without Quizzes, an interactive information session on opportunities offered at WMU.
• Observe a demonstration of the Physic's Department particle accelerator
• Tour Waldo Library's special collections
• Enjoy a pre-game tailgate buffet in new Sangren Hall
• Watch the Bronco football team take on the N. Illinois Huskies
• Attend the Theatre Department's production of Spring Awakening
• Enjoy Sunday brunch with their student in Hoekje/Bigelow Dinning Hall

• Wednesday, October 24—Last day to receive a 25% refund for a complete withdraw
• Sunday, October  28—Midterm grades due
• Monday, November  5—Last day to withdraw
• Wednesday, November 21—Thanksgiving recess starts at noon
• Monday, November 26—Classes resume
• Saturday, December 15--Commencement
• Tuesday, Dec. 18—Final grades due at noon
