Today is the last day students can withdraw from a spring semester course. Students will have access to withdraw through GoWMU until 11:59 p.m. tonight. Students who are unable to access the registration system due to a hold on their account can withdraw in the Registrar's Office. If the student is not on campus, please have them contact our office at 269-387-4300 for assistance.
After tonight, withdrawal from a course will only be permitted through the hardship panel withdrawal process of GAPDAC. Documentation will be required and the Hardship Panel will determine if a hardship exists and whether a withdrawal is warranted. Students initiate this process through the Ombudsman’s Office
Midterm grading ended last Wednesday, March 14 for the spring semester. Grades were entered in 767 sections for 23,280 students. Grades submitted can be viewed by students through GoWMU.
The Western Edge Retention Scholarship is a $500 award given to first year beginning and transfer students who complete 30 credits in their first year at WMU, earn a GPA of 3.00 or higher, and enroll the following Fall semester. An e-mail went out this week to 1 ,509 students that will be short hours after the end of the Spring semester informing them that they still have an opportunity to qualify by enrolling in summer courses.
We have discovered that some of the schedule building reports in Cognos are duplicated. Since the reports are not linked, even though they share the same name, it requires double the maintenance for report writers.
After reviewing usage, the majority of users utilize the folder at the top named “Schedule Offering” (top folder). Therefore, on Thursday, March 22, 2012, the folder at the bottom called “Schedule Building Reports-Schedule Offering” (bottom folder) will be removed. All of the reports found in this folder also appear in the “Schedule Offering” folder.
If you use the reports from the bottom folder and have created shortcuts to these reports, they will be broken when the folder is removed. You will need to create new shortcuts that point to the top folder if you need them.
There is a lot more to see! Visit some of our friends at WMU to learn about academics, costs of attendance, and campus life.
