Registration opens next Monday for Summer I and Summer II 2012. Priority registration goes through Friday, February 17. The complete schedule can be found on our website at: http://www.wmich.edu/registrar/calendars/timeticketSummer.html.
The first work submission deadline is approaching. First work grades are due in Banner by Monday, February 13. Providing students with an early indication of how they are performing in a course can be valuable, especially in 1000 and 2000 level courses.
This fall a Reverse Transfer Agreement was signed by Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo Valley Community College allowing students to combine credits earned at the two schools to earn associate degree. Last week an e-mail was sent to 222 students who, based on the number of credits they completed at KVCC and WMU, are eligible for review under this agreement.
To participate, the student needs to complete the Reverse Transfer form provided in the
e-mail they received and return it to the Registrar’s Office. We will then forward the form, along with a copy of the student’s transcript, to KVCC. KVCC will review the student’s record to determine if they meet the requirements for the associate degree and will follow up with the student.
The goal of this initiative is to give students an opportunity to earn an additional credential that could help them in the job market and throughout their career. Information will be sent to eligible students three times a year in May, September and January.
WMU also signed a Reverse Transfer Agreement with Grand Rapids Community College. We are working with them to get their initiative up and running and hope to begin contacting former GRCC students by the end of the month.
