Fall semester grades are due tomorrow, December 20, at noon. The grading system will be turned off soon after the deadline and we will begin processing. Grades will be available for students to view as soon as processing has been completed, which we anticipate will be sometime in the late afternoon or early evening tomorrow.
Students will be notified through their wmich.edu e-mail account if their academic standing changes to probation, extended probation, final probation or dismissal. The e-mail will explain what the standing means, what impact it has on future registration and provides information on recourses available to assist them. If the student has been academically dismissed, a hard copy letter will also be mailed to their permanent/home address
Students who have been academically dismissed will be dropped from their Spring semester courses on Friday, January 6.
Instructors attempting to submit grades using Internet Explorer version 7 may experience difficulty accessing the term selection drop down menu in faculty self-service. As a work around, they can place their cursor in the term field and use the down arrow on the keyboard to scroll through the available terms.
Upgrading to Internet Explorer 8 or using Firefox will fix the problem. Please note, that the Office of Information Technology recommends that you not upgrade to Internet Explorer 9 or beyond or Mozilla Firefox 3.6 at this time since those versions are not yet vendor approved for WMU web-based applications.
This defect appears to be corrected in the Banner 8.5 version we will be moving to at the end of January.
As a reminder, students enrolled in online courses will be charged an online support fee of $60 per credit hour. If you are advising students to enroll in an online section, please make sure they are aware of this additional charge.
